Established in 2003
Our accidental story started in the ‘90s when I met Mr. Curtis on 3rd Street as I was looking at jewelry stores while shopping.
We became good friends, and I eventually got a job at his jewelry store.
My passion for jewelry was ignited as I observed how each piece was made, the stories behind them, and the extraordinary amount of patience and care it took to make or restore them.
I was always enthusiastic and eager to learn all about cleaning, making, and repairing jewelry, and so I pursued this passion by becoming a trusted apprentice in the shop.
My son, who was then a child, would always curiously hang around. Eventually, he too learned the delicate craft of jewelry making and repair. Finally, in 2003, we opened our very own: Maty’s Jewelry.
To this day, Maty’s Jewelry continues to provide Durant, OK with the special and meaningful experience that jewelry gives.
